Reasoning Mind 101
1. Reasoning Mind was founded in 2000, but launched its first pilot project in 2003.
2. The mission statement of Reasoning is very specific when addressing its position on bridging the achievement gap:
"to provide a first-rate math education for every child."
Reasoning Mind's intention in providing a math education to every child is to equip them to think critically and creatively. By tailoring math lessons that will help progress each child at his or her level, each child will have a chance at success!
3. Houston, Dallas, Beaumont, & Moscow are home to Reasoning Mind employees!
4. The Reasoning Mind Software reaches over 70,000 students!
5. The Core Curriculum for Reasoning Mind is intended for grades 2nd-6th, but Basic Level III is intended for up to 8th grade.
6. Alex Khachatryan came up with idea for Reasoning Mind in 1999 after volunteering with wife Julia and son, George.
7. Some of our major donors include Bill & Melinda Gates, Cockrell family, ExxonMobil Foundation, Michael & Susan Dell Fundation, and The Houston Endowment.
8. Some of our technology sponsors include GOOGLE!, Akamai, Atlassian, Cisco, FairIsaac, Sungard, and Oracle.
9. We offer 8 full time positions at this time, and one part-time position (campus rep).
10. Our math curriculum is developed from Russian mathematics' teachers! Their proven successes have changed the future of educating young people and allowed Reasoning Mind to build upon their successes with new software technology.
11. We have a genie here at Reasoning Mind: Math Genie. She works with student engagement, electronic messaging, and non-human resources.
